Economics is a popular subject at St Michael's College because of the wide-ranging applications of the subject and because so many career paths are enhanced with a knowledge of Economics. Further, the students realise that Economics underpins the studies of other key subjects in the commercial arena such as Accounting, Business Administration and Commerce.

The course offered at St Michael's College examines aspects of both micro and macro Economics. Thus the students are exposed to applications of these aspects in many diverse areas encompassing the economics of households, industries and companies as well as the larger aspects of global inflation, unemployment and the wide-ranging effects of multi-national corporations.
