About us Why was the College established? The College has been established to provide admission opportunities into a post-primary institution for Primary Six pupils. These pupils may not otherwise have the opportunity to gain admission into government-established post-primary schools or other private institutions of learning within Kaduna. Admission opportunities are provided without prejudice as regards age, sex, religion or social status. What are the aims of the College? The College aims to: In pursuing academic excellence, staff aim to make the students' studies highly relevant, with practical hands-on experience whenever possible, and stimulating educational excursions that demonstrate the real-world applications of what the students are learning. The Building The College's impressive building was substantially funded by the Barnabas Fund, UK with a view to assisting children from the villages in Kaduna Diocese. It is hoped that in the future, the College will be able to meet the educational needs of these families from rural backgrounds and thus open up opportunities for them that would otherwise not be available. External Exams: The College prepares students for external examinations at both JSCE and SSCE level. These include WAEC, SSCE NECO, JSCE NECO and Kaduna State examinations. Graduating students have gained pleasing results with commendable numbers of credits at both SSCE and JSCE levels. Curriculum: As an examination centre for a number of external examination boards, the College offers a comprehensive range of subjects in addition to emphasising the all-round education of each student. Co-curricular activities are also included and the College has a range of sporting equipment that enables students to develop their skills in badminton, volleyball and table tennis as well as the very popular sports such as soccer. Track and field events are highlighted each year in the Inter-house Sports Competition. Academic facilities: A number of laboratories equipped to WAEC and NECO-approved standards are located in the College. These include individual laboratories for each of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Home Economics and Agricultural Science. This last-mentioned room is also fitted to serve as a Visual Arts studio. Additionally, the College has a Computer Laboratory containing over twenty computers which have been networked in order to facilitate hands-on instruction. The College library has a growing collection of volumes.
